Hessian squares can be used to line your existing pond basket to help prolong their life and durability. Simply place inside your desired basket and fill with aquatic compost. As well as reducing soil leeching, a hessian liner will also reinforce the basket whilst still allowing the plant's root system to absorb nutrients and moisture. As your plant grows, the hessian will naturally biodegrade and allow the roots to grow through the mesh. We recommend replacing your pond basket as soon as the plant appears to out-grow its current size.
